Quite a few alumni came to visit DBS on Saturday in Kyoto. The DBS Network (DBSN), which is the DBS Alumni Society, planned to have classes for alumni only who have already graduated from DBS since 2005 to 2007. There were five classes such as Technology for Automobile Company, Service Marketing, Business Strategy, Creative City Kyoto, and Financial Crisis.
People here enjoyed classes from different fields partly because they haven’t participated in any classes for several years after their graduation. It seems very fresh for us, including me. While we were in the MBA, we had so many assignments which make us sleepless and could not have enough time to relax for two years. We studied hard in order to complete the assignments and do the group work in order to make presentations and submit the reports before the deadlines. It was very tough because I had many things to do, such as my main job as the manage of my company, volunteer activities, and taking care of family members at the same time. I sometimes felt that the part time MBA was like a war. Anyway, that’s nothing but a distant memory now. We enjoyed the classes and the reunion of people from different areas in Japan.
On the same day, I planned to take the alumni video messages from the participants. We took videos from four alumni for the new Global MBA website begining in autumn next year. Some of them are living in Tokyo, which is the capital city of Japan, a little far from Kyoto where the university located. So this was a good chance to catch them for shooting videos. After taking those classes, we went to the restaurant to eat and drink with those former warriors again.
