My research theme is as follows: "Consideration of the cultural factor in electronic commerce (EC)” Case study of "The Kakushin Juku". The function of the Internet has evolved over the last several years and it began to be able to convey information interactively by various methods. The traditional industry of Kyoto is considered as a case study about the transmission of culture on the Internet. The content of the research classifies the transition by time period while comparing the Japan and the U.S., two countries of EC. Moreover, how a cultural product can be treated by the Internet by using Chris Anderson's "Long Tail Theory" is verified. The verification method is done from both a quantitative verification and a qualitative verification. A quantitative verification analyzes various data obtained from the website of "The Kakushin Juku, Innovative Globalization of Kyoto’s Heritage Industries Program," which is a class of the Doshisha Business School and analyzes the decisive factors of the change in major indexes. It verifies it by using the method of the questionnaire survey to the analysis of evaluations from people who visit the community on the website, the comments, visitors and interviews, etc. in a qualitative verification concerning the acceptability of the traditional culture of Japan.
